The Mertex™ Subsea Fabric Formed Concrete Systems are a newer system we offer for Hurricane Storm Protection, Caribbean GeoTextiles can help design and provide technical assistance for your subsea fabric formed concrete specific needs. Our subsea fabric form concrete systems will include articulating block mattresses and structures constructed from geotextile woven fabric which are filled with grout in-situ. Your pipeline or support structure requirements will dictate the final shape of the mattress or support.
Mertex™ Pipeline Stabilization Mattresses are flexible concrete mattress made up of rectangular concrete forms linked together with high strength non-degradable cable and conform closely to structural and seabed contours. If local scouring is prevalent, polypropylene fronds may be added to enhance the build-up of a spoil bank. Martex concrete subsea mattresses are suitable for protection of pipelines, cables, umbilicals and spool pieces where the seabed profile is uneven and to stabilize pipelines in areas susceptible to high currents.
Caribbean GeoTextils can supply Mertex mattresses for Hurricane Storm Protection in a variety of sizes and unit weights to fit a particular application. Thicknesses are generally 15cm and 30cm. The techniques developed for deploying fabric formworks by ROV have been successfully used at water depths of more than 1,200 meters.
